We recently found this letter circa 1996, which was sent to breeders just as Mujadil’s first two year olds were about to run.

Dear Breeder,

It is a very difficult decision to make when trying to pick a Stallion for your mare.

Bull Hancock, one of the most astute stallion masters of the 20th century and owner of the world renowned Claiborne Farm in Kentucky had four points he always adhered to;

  1. The stallion had to have speed
  2. He preferred good two year old form
  3. The stallion had to have a good female line
  4. The stallion had to be by a proven sire of sires

We think that Mujadil fits all these conditions. Many astute breeders have noticed these points and Mujadil has covered 60, 56, 62 mares in his first three years at stud. And, his yearlings have been bought by Mick Channon, Richard Hannon, Mark Johnson, Jack Berry etc. With the likes of Alzao and Fairy King starting at fees of less than £3,000 it would be wrong not to think of using a stallion like Mujadil.

Mujadil is a 15.3hands bay stallion with good bone. This is an opportunity not to be missed.

Wishing you success in 1996,

Maurice Burns

Mujadil has gone on to sire over 50 stakes horses with winnings over £15m and progeny making up to 500,000 guineas in the sales ring. Proving a wonderful success for Rathasker Stud and all its loyal clients. And this year, although retired from commercial standing, he has one of the leading fancies for the Queen Mary Stakes Gr.2 at Royal Ascot in Jadanna.
