ANZ pedigree analysis on Gr.1 HK Vase Winner Dominant

Dominant is a member of the first crop of the regally bred Cacique (Danehill). Bred on the same Danehill (Danzig)/Ahonoora (Lotenzaccio) cross as multiple Group One winners Excelebration (Exceed And Excel), Gold Edition (Lion Hunter) and Dancing Rain (Danehill Dancer), Dominant is out of winning Es Que (Inchinor). Also dam of the Stakes placed Es Que Love (Clodovil), Es Que is out of the Listed winner Bellona (Bering), in turn a daughter of the Group Three winner Bellarida (Bellypha), whose eight winners include the stakes winners In Clover (Inchinor) and Bayourida (Slew O’Gold).  A descendant of fame matriarch Simon’s Shoes (Simon Square), also ancestress of Northern Dancer’s influential sons Sadler’s Wells, Fairy King and Nureyev, Dominant carries three strains of the prolific Natalma (Native Dancer)/Almahmoud (Mahmoud) family, Danehill, Northern Dancer (to whom he is line-bred 4X6X5X6X6X7, including a 5X6 cross of Nijinsky II) and Arctic Tem (Sea Bird).
