Alben Star wins All Weather Sprint Championships

Alben Star (Clodovil / Secret Circle) came from the clouds to land the £150,000 All-Weather Sprint Championships at Lingfield for trainer Richard Fahey. Jockey Paul Hanagan said, "he's done it well in the end, a bit cosy. It suited him as they went very quick." Richard commented, "I told Paul he had a big chance. This was a huge day for him.... he will go in all the big sprint handicaps."

 

The Racing Post wrote "Michael Owen will know the feeling all too well but this time was on the receiving end of a late, late sucker punch as Alben Star overhauled the former England footballer's runner Trinityelitedotcom to snare the Sprint."
