Doncaster Yearlings 2014
15 Aug 2014
Fast Company is just one of a number of first season sires that are dominating the general sire tables in 2014. He currently sits 4th on the table of Leading Sires of Two Year Olds in Europe with 17 individual winners. His best performer to date is a DBS yearling purchase Baitha Alga who showed a masterful performance to win Royal Ascot’s G2 Norfolk Stakes (5f) for Richard Hannon Jr. and Al Shaqab Racing. Baitha Alga is rated 108 and has a lot more to offer this season with entries in the G1 Middle Park, G1 Dewhurst, G2 Champagne Stakes and G2 Mill Reef. In addition, Fast Act was an impressive second in the G3 Molecomb Stakes at the recent Glorious Goodwood meeting for Kevin Ryan.
Lot 184 B.C. Fast Company ex Trentini
Trentini is a young winning Singspiel mare from the family of Greenland Park, who won the G2 Queen Mary Stakes (5f), G3 Cornwallis Stakes (5f) and G3 Molecomb Stakes (5f) and of highly successful Rathasker stallion Red Sunset who won the G2 Coventry Stakes (6f), both of the Red God line which the Burns family has cultivated throughout the years. This is the pedigree nick of Baitha Alga who comes from the Red God line through Fantastic Light (Rahy). Trentini’s dam Nawadi is an own sister to No Excuse Needed who Sir Micheal Stoute trained for Maktoum Al Maktoum to win the G2 Queen Anne Stakes (1m), G2 Celebration Mile (1m) and G3 Vintage Stakes. (7f)
“This is a colt full of quality and style, with a great flowing action – he floats over the ground. He looks like a horse to run over 6-7f mid season and he comes from a family that the Burns know well with his ancestors being Royal Ascot winners Greenland Park and Red Sunset.” Maurice
Lot 627 B.F. Fast Company ex Lucky Leigh
Lucky Leigh is the dam of one foal, Something Lucky who has won of €45,000 in prizemoney so far in 2014 (5f) for Con Marnane. Following a dominating victory in the Prix Isabelle Desmarais at Le Teste de Buch, hewas a close 5th in the Listed Prix de la Vallee d’Auge (5f) at Deauville on August 15th. Lucky Leigh herself was a Royal Ascot quality two year old finishing a close 4th in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes (5f).
“This filly is a standout individual with power, strength, great walk and temperament. She has all the elements to make her a precocious two year old in 2015.” Maurice
Lot 37 B.C. Acclamation / Photo Flash
Acclamation has produced G1 winner Dark Angel (Middle Park, 6f) and Equiano (King’s Stand, 5F). Other top class performers that he has produced are top two year olds Harbour Watch and Saayer, both of whom won the G2 Richmond Stakes (6f). In 2013, his yearlings averaged 71,000gns and his top price yearling fetched €580,000. Acclamation himself was an ultra-consistent performer – winning or being placed on 15 out of 16 career starts (10 Group or Listed) and he retired at a rating of 120. He was a top class sprinter who won the G2 Diadem Stakes (6f) and was placed in the G1 King’s Stand (5f) and G1 Nunthorpe Stakes (5f).
Photo Flash is a Bahamian Bounty mare. Bahamian Bounty has enjoyed plenty of success with the NORTHERN DANCER line in particular the emerging TRY MY BEST branch which has given him the G3 Ballycorus Stakes (7f) winner Naahy. Royal Applause and Acclamation look to suit nicely, particularly as it creates line-breeding to Bold Ruler. One of Acclamation’s top performers include G1 Prix Morny (6f) placed Parliament Square - whose dam is by Cadeaux Genereux highlighting the successful cross.
Winning dam Photo Flash has produced 2 black type winners. Deal Breaker, won the Listed Grand Prairie Turf Challenge Stakes at Lone Star Park and was placed in the Listed Blenheim Stakes (6f) for Eddie Lynam. Prolific won the G2 Richmond Stakes (6f) for Richard Hannon and was placed in the G2 July Stakes (6f), G2 Norfolk Stakes (5f) and raced in Hong Kong to be placed in the HKG1Sha Tin Sprint Trophy (1000m).
“This Acclamation is a strong, well boned early two year old type. He is typical of a family that keeps producing tough two year old Stakes performers.” Maurice
