Shining Emerald wins Group 2 Goldene Peitsche

Shining Emerald (by Clodovil (Ire) 1st Dam: Janayen, by Zafonic) garnered the Listed Blenheim S. at The Curragh and was third in the G3 Killavullan S. at Leopardstown in 2013 and was third the following year in both the Listed Leopardstown 2000 Guineas Trial and Listed Lacken S. at Naas. Since joining Andreas Wohler, the bay had won a conditions event over six furlongs at Bremen Apr. 3 and the 6 1/2-furlong G3 Silberne Peitsche at Munich at the start of May before finishing runner-up in the Listed Dallmayr Prodomo Trophy over seven back at the latter venue last time July 26. Held up early towards the rear, he was delivered with unerring timing by Eduardo Pedroza to reel in the French raider Son Cesio in the final yards for a new career high. Congratulations to owner Jaber Abdullah and breeders Rabbah Bloodstock Ltd.
