17 Sep 2015
Fast Company got off the mark with a much deserved Listed win at Listowel for Devonshire (ex Nova Tor), who had previously excelled herself when third in the Gr.1 Irish 1,000 Guineas. Devonshire had first been runner up in the Gr.3 Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes over seven furlongs and in that track’s Gr.3 Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial over a mile. After her Guineas placing she was second in the Listed Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes at Killarney and fourth in the Gr.3 Dance Design Fillies Stakes over this trip at The Curragh 11 days later. Second initially, she was committed on the front end by Billy Lee with three furlongs to race and her class proved decisive from there as she satyed safely clear all the way to the line. Her full brother is catalogued as lot 317 in Goffs Orby Sale.
Fast Company’s next success came from Beverley as Roger Varian’s Fool To Cry (ex Islandagore) in the 2yo maiden race. She is a half sister to the six time winner and Listed Prix Craon placed Alice’s Dancer (Clodovil) and five other winners out of the three year old scorer and Listed Platinum Stakes runner-up Islandagore (Indian Ridge). The second dam Dancing Sunset, landed the Gr.3 Royal Whip Stakes and the Listed Mooresbridge Stakes. She produced the Listed Go and Go Round Tower Stakes winner, Lady Of Kildare (Mujadil). Islandagore has a Born To Sea yearling colt catalogued as Lot 932 at the Tattersalls Book 2 and a filly foal by the same sire.
Fast Company’s third winner was derived from Jumeirah Glory (Lady Dettoria) who scored in a Sandown Jockey Club handicap. He made all to win in decisive fashion and was unchallenged in final one furlong. Trained by Richard Fahey for Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum and bred by Robert Norton. Congratulations to all connections.
