Rathasker pinhook Majeste wins Newbury Maiden Stakes

Rathasker pinhook Majeste (Acclamation ex Winged Valkyrie) won the EBF 2yo Maiden over 6 furlongs at Newbury on Saturday. His stylish success came from his second start for Richard Hannon and owner Mohamed Saeed Al Shahl, he was previously runner-up at Windsor on the 4th of July.

 

Shaken up approaching the final quarter mile, the 7-2 chance inched into fourth and quickened smartly in the closing stages to score by two lengths from Hathiq.

 

We sold Majeste to Peter and Ross Doyle at DBS Premier sale in 2015.

 

He is the second foal of his winning dam, who is a half-sister to the Gr.3 Sandown Classic Trial winner Above Average and the Gr.3 Prestige Stakes winner Sent From Heaven. His second dam Crystal Cross can boast the G1 Haydock Park Sprint hero Iktamal among her siblings, this being the dam line of the Gr.1 Champion Stakes heroine Rose Bowl.
