Gregorian Treble Across The Cards

07 Aug 2019

Sesame Birah (Gregorian ex Limousine) won a Newbury Median Auction Stakes over 7f. She was penalised six pounds for annexing a June 28th seven-furlong Chester heat and was let go as the even-money pick returning off a fourth over the same trip in Deauville’s July 27th Gr.3 Prix Six Perfections. The bay found a smooth rhythm trapped wide in a handy fourth after an alert getaway from the outside stall. Challenging on the bridle passing the quarter mile marker, she was shaken up to lead soon after and held the closing burst of Mr Poy by half a length. Kin to a yearling by Coulsty (catalogued in Book 3 2019)  and a 2019 colt by Champs Elysees, she is the first foal and scorer out of a winning half-sister to Gr.3 Premio Verziere victress Distain (Champs Elysees), from a family featuring Gr.1 Racing Post Trophy Sire Armiger and Gr.1 Gran Criterium hero Law Enforcement. She is a Goff UK Premier Sale graduate.

Crystal Tiara  (Gregorian ex Petaluma) won at Nottingham over 1m2f 3YO Handicap, shouldered a 6lb penalty after her win in Leicester last time, got to the front early, dictated and kept responding for pressure to follow up. She relished the ground and is game. “Crystal Tiara is a lovely filly. She is willing, she stayed on and she liked the cut in the ground, which helps her a lot. She really keeps fighting and is a galloper. She gave me a good feel. I pressed early, but she never gave up.”

Ugo Gregory (Gregorian ex Raajis) also won at Nottingham for owner Frank Gillespie and trainer Tim Easterby in the 6f Handicap. It was a nice win for the Brook Stud bred who chased the leaders, was shaken up to lead over 1f out and ran on comfortably.

It was a good day at the office for Gregorian who also had two seconds – Nat Love and Gregorian Girl.
