French Listed Success For Gregorian 2YO Plainchant

Plainchant wins Listed Criterium de Bequet

The big race in France yesterday was the Listed Criterium de Bequet, a 1200m contest at La Teste de Buch for two-year-olds which was sponsored by Osarus Sales. After a winning debut on this track a couple of weeks ago, Stardevote was supplemented into the race and she was sent off as favourite. However, she found Plainchant too strong. The Gregorian filly continued her upward trajectory by dominating her rivals on black-type bow. Sharply into stride to lead from the bell, she powered clear of toiling rivals in the straight and maintained a high tempo to easily hold the rally of Stardevote for a career high.

 

The Elevage des-Loges bred winner, is the sixth foal out of Nadinska, a winning half-sister to Gr.2 Prix de Sandringham winner Laugh Out Loud (Clodovil - which makes Plainchant very closely related), Listed Pinnacle Stakes amd Listed Chalice Stakes victress Suzi’s Decision. Laugh Out Loud is herself the dam of Gr.2 San Marcos Stakes and Gr.3 Gallinule Stakes winner Platinum Warrior (Galileo) from a family featuring Gr.1 Derby Italiano-winning sire White Muzzle. Well done to owner Sauro-Andrea Fiordelli.
